Passionflower, valerian and hops have a long history in Western herbal teas as calming bedtime ingredients. Lavender and lemon balm add a soft, soothing aroma, traditionally sipped to unwind in the evening. Chamomile, a bedtime staple for centuries, rounds out this gentle blend — the perfect evening ritual before you turn in.

Use 1 heaped teaspoon per cup in 100°C water.

The steep time is completely personal; there's no hard and fast rule on your own personal taste.

• If you like a milder brew, steep for 30 seconds to 1 minute.
• A little bit stronger brew, steep from 1 minute to 5 minutes.
• If you really like a strong brew, steep for as long as you like!

Sweeten to taste with honey, lemon or rock sugar.

Remember, the beauty of loose leaf teas is that the blends can be brewed a few times, although they will be weaker each time.
